Equine Massage
-
A comprehensive static and dynamic assessment is conducted at intake to determine lines of compensation, structural imbalances, asymmetries and sensitivity to palpation - this will guide the session and determine overarching goals.
-
The duration of your session will ALWAYS be horse specific, keeping in mind the overall goals for your equine counterpart - while consciously listening to the horses and meeting them where they are at. Context Equine always puts the horse first.
-
An essential part of the work, Integration can look a variety of ways. Post massage integration will include oscillations, gentle stretches, movement and time. This allows the nervous system to process the changes made within hands on work. Outside of each session, Context Equine will provide suggested exercises and home care to continue supporting symmetry and balance within your horse.
The Impact of Equine Bodywork
Equine bodywork plays a key role in supporting optimal performance by allowing the horse to move with greater freedom, balance, and efficiency. By addressing areas of tension, restriction, and compensation, it helps improve range of motion, enhance muscle function, and reduce the risk of strain or injury. Horses often demonstrate increased fluidity, responsiveness, and consistency in their work, both under saddle and in training. When incorporated as part of a regular program, bodywork becomes an essential tool in maintaining peak condition and supporting long-term athletic performance.
